Yeah, I've got pics of a converted 1st Gen to a 2nd gen.
And you guys are wack, every person I've ever shown a RD1 and 2 to laugh their ass's off when they find out they are the same car. The RD1 can be done up nice, but nothing like the RD2. The RD2 looks better stock, IMO than the RD1 moderately modified.
And whoever said that about the taillights is silly. RD1 tails = BARF!
To convert, I am POSITIVE you need the following...
1. New Hood
2. New Headlight/Corner assy's.
3. New bumpers.
4. New Taillights
5. New Rear 1/4 Panels, yes, they have to be cut and welded.
Parts I THINK you MAY have to have to convert...
1. New Hatch
2. New Radiator CrossMount
Parts Everyone Thinks You Need to Switch but DON'T.
1. FENDERS

sorry, but for me, the RD 2 is too "busy" with bumps, grooves, and odd vents that do not make sense and take away from the smoothness of the original design. And the "stupid light" let's not go there.
i had 10,000 to pick out my first car, i could have gotten anything from a turbo lancer to a GTS celica, but i pick my second gen. tiburon for it's looks, even stock it blew away every Honda, or any other import for that matter, with in 100 miles. no offense to the first gen. tiburon, but second gen. stands out more. no other car on the road has the same round headlight design, besides an acura intgera, but who would want one of those

Ok guys, it's a matter of opinion. Personally I like the RD1 front better. If you could have and RD1 front and an RD2 rear you would have the ultimate conversion (IMO). Stop talking smack about the RD1 or the sight gets taken down! wink1.gif

the RD-1 front bumper to me looks better b/c it doesnt look like a celica like the rd-2. I like the back of the RD2s though.
yeah i like the rear on the RD2 better than RD1 except for the hatch but i do like the RD1 front better than the RD2. my .02
IMHO, RD2s have a face only a mother (or owner) could love!! lol.gif wink.gif
The stock RD1 bumper makes it look a little too "happy", I think... Kinda like it's smiling?! :? I reckon it should look mean!!
... The day I find one of these front bars will be a happy one indeed!!
