Veilside Hood & Wing
Ok, so I'm going through the Veilside site and come to realize that they have a CF hood for the RD2 and I haven't heard anything about it. Is there a reason for this? What about their wing(same question)? I would imagine coming from a company with the reputation of Veilside this would be good shtuffs so why no mention of their hoods when people ask where to get CF hoods? :?:
Pic of hood is obviously FG hood but Veilside site says CF also available. I just wanted to show what style their hood was.

OK OK, I'm just ASSuming it is because of how well the color matched the rest of the car and that if they were showing their CF hood I would think they wouldn't paint it so that we could see that it was CF.
Actually, they used to have the prices on the site but they are no longer listed how much are they? Do you happen to know? I remember that everything is expensive from them though.

something to keep in mind about veilside is, their kits a created to be more airodynamic and not just for good looks, also veilside has a warranty for life that if your in a accident or breaks they replace it free of charge. and they created to be near perfect fit. So in other words you pay for quality.
tipracer - I'm not say your wrong, things may have change, but a year ago I read a letter from the president of veilside and mention why veilside was the best, and one of the things he stated was the warranty specs.
as posted on the News section of Veilside's website:

I was not aware that they made a CF hood. Maybe that's new, I've also never heard of anyone owning it. I hate the fact that Veilside removed pricing from their webpage a few months ago.
As for the wing, yes you can get it in CF. The problem is that Veilside outsources their wings to another company (I believe out of Virginia) and I have heard of several people having quality issues with them. Rusted bolts, the flaps on the side falling off, broken in shipment due to poor packaging, etc. I've talked with a local guy who bought the Veilside wing for his Cerwin Vega sponsored Celica, and within 3 weeks all bolts were rusted and the flaps on the sides were loose. Not a great thing to happen when you're in the Cerwin Vega Vendor Booth at NOPI Nationals. They did offer to replace the wing for free but the show was too close and he just went with it, taking the side flaps off himself so they wouldn't become flying debris on the interstate going down to Atlanta.

That's cool, definitely a company that stands behind their product, or charges enough initially to cover the 1/2 cost. LOL Too bad they don't give out free ones, but that would mean double the existing price amount I'm sure.
