200whp N/A is a reasonably hard number to hit with the 2.7l. It's very hard to hit it with the 2.0l.

Like mentioned above, it only takes a small amount of boost to hit that goal.

200 was a rough estimate. I want the car to at least start out n/a, and maybe do a turbo later. That being said, can I build a good n/a engine that I can switch to a turbo later? I don't wanna decide I want a turbo and have to rebuild the whole thing. You said they're good with boost? My car is a 2002, with 123,000+ miles, and one of my concerns is blowing it up. I wanna learn.

You can build a motor for high N/A horsepower or high turbo horsepower but not both. A high N/A HP motor would have really high compression ratio and that's something you DO NOT want for high boost.

In all honesty it boils down to what you want to do. If you want reliable DD status just do every bolt on you can and upgrade the suspension. It's a good bit of pep and fun in the corners.

If it were me I'd get something else as a DD and build the xd for a fun toy.

I'm gonna rebuild my engine eventually. I think it would be cheaper/easier to build a N/A engine with some balls and a suspension/brake/rim upgrade...

P.S. I race a two stroke motorcycle, maybe a boosted high rev engine would suit my style? But I don't wanna sacrifice acceleration, let alone a few grand.

Even stick-on carbon fiber? My biggest problem is money. I have tools, I have experience...
