White Smoke And High Idle
quick couple questions anyways i just finished installing the engine a cpl weeks ago and ran into a problem, my car idles high.. around 2K and after it heats up there is white smoke coming out of the thermostat housing... anyone got answers?
the smoke is white, no blue tint to it so i dont think its oil burning, also i hear a hissing sound coming from that area as it heats up, im hoping i just need to replace that gasket and ill do the thermostat replacement at the same time as well but i was just seeing if it might be something else

White smoke must indicate burning coolant so there must be a leak and its burning off once the engine gets hot. You better replace the gasket and make sure its installed and sealed properly and see if that fixes the problem.
