when i got my tranny in the mail it was plastic wrapped to a sturdy piece of plywood. then a cardbord box was built around it. it was a very good method in my opinion but thats all i've got. plus the engine is going to be a bit larger and heavier than an tranny.

where is the engine at vs. where you are at. either you pick it up or your at the mercy of the shipping costs of the yard.

edit: hey aren't you in oh? how far are you from columbus? yards around there are packed with tibs, if you could access a pickup you might be set.

the shipping cost on my tranny was 75. I bet you could ship and buy the supplies for what i described above for less than 150.
