I thought the unichip can be reprogrammed to your specs as many times you want?

The Uni-Chip and S-AFC would counteract eachother/they both do the same thing, so no, you would/should not use them together.

The S-AFC can be made to use 450/475cc injectors, so the uni-chip is THEORETICALLY capable of doing it. This particular shop that I talked with said that it was not. However, in my conversations with Red, it SHOULD be able to.

I'm in the process of calling around to find another Uni-Chip tuning place to see what their opinion is.

Also...I just found out Alpine is going to be back in the USA in early November. I'm going to try to wrangle a re-tune out of them.

ARGH!! What a load of bull****!! This just tops off a horrible ****ing week! Now I have a paperweight that I can't use with new injectors I was _planning_ to buy. I should have build my own damn turbo setup and bent my own _stainless_ steel pipes...not this sewage plumbing they sent me. *drops a steamer on Alpine*

I called a Unichip dealer around my area and he wants $325 to reprogram the Unichip and $125 for Dyno Time.Thats a total of $450Canadian funds which is $290US.

Random do you think i should just use my S-AFC and not install the Unichip?
I know they do the same thing but wouldnt a S-AFC work a little better?
Which one would you go with!!

The uni-chip works off boost. It can also adjust timing. the S-AFC can do neither. Well, there IS a way to SORT of, have the s-afc work with boost, but it is sorta complicated.

I would stick with the Uni-Chip if you can, and ask your mechanic if he thinks he can get it to work with the 4 larger injectors. If he cannot, you can always try the S-AFC with boost thing.

BTW...good news. Alpine is back in town on November 5th, and they said they will attempt to re-tune the unichip then.

Wish me luck there. They did such a crappy job the first time, I hardley see how they could make it worse....

Well you never know remember that old saying if duct tape can't fix it then it's ****ing broke. So you might want to check out their bags for duct tape.

BTW good luck man!

Random,I can't beleive they ruined your ur car so much sad.gif .
When I was over in South Africa and they took me for a spin in their turbo tibby, that thing definitly had no lack of power and no flat spots-it was spot on.
I spoke to my uni-chip dealer and he said the uni-chip can run 4 larger injectors,I hate it when I hear horror stories-it puts you off investing money in such work.

Barry.
