Transmission Wont Come Off! Help
Well, today was a huge waste of effort and time.. I was trying to take of my transmission with demon fox (Thanks a million bro) and the fugger wouldnt budge. We had to go to meijer and buy a pry bar, which didnt help much..
We go the transmission seperated about 1/2" from the block, and the dowels are completely seperated. Now here was the fun part, trying to get the transmission off.. heh, you think at this point, with EVERYTHING unbolted, all three trans. mounts off, it would be easy. HELL NAH..
for anyone who has taken a transmission off before, you know how if you forgot to take off the top of the clutch fork, it WONT come off, no matter how much you pull, twist or pry. thats whats happening now, but i have the top of it unbolted. so i decide to bolt it back on to see if i can move it back and forth with my hand, like it should usually do. no worky.. so dan (demon fox) throws a socket on it, and can barely get it to move.. basically moving the TOB back and forth in the pressure plate, but its REALLLY hard.
so the fork wont let the TOB out of it, and i cant pull the trans. off. no matter how hard we tried, and pried, nothing would budge after that 1/2". something has to be bent inside there, of broken badly..
I NEED HELP.. any suggestions will be greatly appreciated..
TOOL DEATHS today: 1 12mm durabuilt socket, and one 15" pry bar..

it usually just is a walk in the park after the clutch lever has been remove already and the clutch fork is free to move

yea it was no prob, ill be back tomorrow with a bigger hammer lol. but i just cant figure it out so im gonna call a couple a mechanic friends and see what they think. personally i think there has to be a way to manually release that sumbitk. ill figure it out. too bad that pry bar was weak.
Do a search, this has been asked and answered at least 10 times.
If you try to rotate the clutch lever on the transmission, it will hit the bellhousing.
Take the nut off the clutch lever attached to the transmission. Raise the lever up about .5", NOW it will rotate past the transmission bellhousing, and the transmission will litterally fall off (or nearly).
Don't feel bad....I've done it. Many others have done it.
Unless you know to take off that nut and raise the clutch lever that .5" to allow it to rotate past the bellhousing...you just CAN NOT get it off.

random, the lever is completely OFF.. im no n00b at taking the trans. off which is why this is soo strange.. i wanted to see how hard it would be to move the lever when it was on, its supposed to be somewhat easy but took alotta torque to even move it..
so i took it back off again, and tried to pry the trans off again to no avail.. sad.gif
i took the lever off first thing, because last time my buddy forgot to take it off, and the trans wouldnt come off..
it feels the same way, like the TOB it still latched on the fork, but the fork wont rotate, even with the lever unbolted.. trans just WONT budge to come off.
