if you're going to swap you'd better find the money to get a new stage2 maybe clutch and lightened flywheel, it's definitely worth it while you have all that stuff taken apart already.

good luck!!

I just use my hands when I do it... no need for a tranny lift. That is unless you are weak nana.gif

If anyone can

a - Help me get the parts I need
b- Help me install a 5spd transmission and all the other parts..

I will give someone a few hundred. This is getting kind of crucial. I have been without a car for almost a month.

Otherwise I'm thinking about just selling the car and just buying a 5spd but that's too much time and hassle for me.

QUOTE (zoned019 @ Jan 31 2006, 10:05 PM)
I'd say your best bet is to go to a u-pull it yard, and do the swap yourself. buy casper some beer and throw him a hundred bucks or something and i'm sure he'd help you and do an awesome job.

I'll say it again..
Call casper, he's a local and OFFERED to help you dude.
Or check the auto-manual swap DIY, get the list of parts they say you need and write them down. Then take someone who knows cars with you to a you-pull-it junkyard, and get all those parts. Then you just find a way to install it (I would personally call Casper, he knows his shit.)

Oh God Zoned, what you dont know

I've been in constant contact with him and he's pretty much booked up due to school and work and projects, and it seems like it'll be a WHILE. I just got a PM from him today, why else would I be so desperate to find someone else?

I've got a friend who might lend me a hand but I need all the help I can get to get back on the road

Hi guys,

I have been scouring the forums for auto tranny issues. I hope my worst fears are not coming true 02.gif
Bought this 2000 tibby with 60K miles, 2 weeks back. Did a full tranny flush/new filter etc. Made sure he check what fluid it requires and he put Dexron III in there after checking that tibby requires SPII. Changed the spark plugs and the transmission is smooth. BUT yesterday while climbing a hill, the car would not upshift and when I let go of gas, it jerked pretty bad before shifting down.

Does this mean bad news!!! No codes/fluid clean since it was just changed. When I changed the flud, it was light brown, not burnt.

Will a tranny cooler help? Is it DIY?
Also, how much would auto to manual cost? Someone near New Brunswick, NJ who can help with me that??

Thanks
Nihar
