Ok guys I've had me tib for bout 7 months now and Im hooked. I have a 2.0 5 speed with the usual mods: AOS intake, Custom Straight back exhaust with magnaflow coffee can, Nopi #1 header, NGK Iridium Plugs, Optima Red top, brand new clutch. In my closet sits a 1.8 cam/ecu waiting to be installed. Now I want to get a little more serious into tuning and opt for a nitrous kit. One problem Im at 228 547kms, like I said I enjoy my tib throughly. So that in mind obviously to not have a bomb under my hood Im going to need a rebuild.

So questions are as follows what will I need? Were can I get it? Is there some budget pricing involved? I read one of those tuner articles in HCI the other day stressing the need for planning, and seeing there point I agree strongly with the idea. So I've started research and have found plenty of options, I could do one stop shopping with our friend Import Shark deping on prices for his kits, peice togeter materials or just drop her at a performance shop and wait for a bill.

This being said Im on a budget, not sure how much exactly yet once I've reaserched more I'll have a figure. But were do you guys think I should start?

Im going to need pistons. 1.8 or Aftermarket?
Will need a full gasket set. Hyundai or Aftermarket?
Will need rods for pistons. Pauter?
Will I need new valves and springs?
Then comes the nitrous. I will be bying a kit of some kind with accessories of sorts but Im looking for other things the dont include in kits.
EX: Fuel pump and FPR, Igntion setups.

For brains of the project Im leaning towards emanage or SMT 6.

The Goal for my project. I do realize that this will be expensive and that I wont be pushing alot of power. IM not looking for big numbers but rather a daily driver that can meet at the track respectibly on the weekend.

One thing I didn't mention was an upgraded clutch and cam setup. Will this be need? Were should I tackle on the outside? Cam gears cam sprockets? Last question, Ive seen pulley setups for the rd2's but not rd1's, I read JSpeed makes them, were can I purchase these?
Thanx in advance for the feedback

just get a new motor and go from there no point in spending the same amount of money to rebuild your high mileage one... i can get you a low mileage motor for a decent price a properly fuel prepped stock motor can handle a 100 shot of nitrous quite easy no need for rods and to lower compression if your just gonna run nawz you wont even need stuff like a smt for nitrous as long as you get a wet kit

for clutch i would get a ACT clutch its reasonably priced and can hold to 238 ft/lbs of torque

Well you could always run a leakdown test on your motor, just because its high mileage doesn't mean its trashed.

Really no need for SMT-6/Emanage, wet kit will supply the fuel for the nitrous and the stock computer can handle the N/A parts.

I agree with faith...if you are on a budget use some of the money to get a lower mileage engine and build from there. It'll give you more time to work and do it right for one thing without having to be without your car and give you more time to get more money. How big of a shot are you wanting to run? If you are wanting too much over 75, then I would just prep the engine and go direct port. Are you wanting to add the pistons and cam and all that for power reasons or were you just mentioning that because you feel like you need to rebuild certain parts of the old engine? If you're using a second engine you don't really NEED all of that. I also don't know how well using the 1.8 ecu with a nitrous setup would work, so hopefully someone will be in to field that. It may also help if we had an idea of your budget. If you had "the budget" I could just say map, blueprint or all out bulletproof your engine.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAh...it's an "engine". A "motor" is electric. Sorry about the slight spaz.

New engine would be a safe bet aswell but its very difficult to get one here. Faith any details on gettn me one? Smt 6 and wat not would be just so I can tune a kit her runnin strong. I'd like to have a very strong setup runing 100 shot or more.

As far as my exhaust its a 3 inch almost strait back. 2 bend if that cant remember exactly.
