Default Tips for cleaning?

Whatever you do, don't use those carwash engine cleaners...LOL . I've sprayed WD-40 on dirty parts and used a clean rag and it seems to work. I also read on a magazine a few years back that using WD-40 on engine hoses increases their longevity.

Gas cleans pretty well, just take a rag and wipe the gas on it. Brake fluid gets off the really strong stuff too, just be careful where you use that stuff cause it can eat paint, especially the brake fluid.

Nah, won't be an issue. Ever spill gas when you were pouring it into a hot lawnmower or weedeater? Didn't make a difference did it? Same with a car.

I had to do crazy cleaning when I bought my car. Idiot who had it before me tried to paint his valve cover. Didn't cover everything right, so he got silver over the spark plugs, wires, vacuum lines, everything. Took me a few hours of brake fluid and gas, but I got it all off. Just lay towels all around the engine bay of your car, so you don't spill anything. If you do, get it off quickey.

seems like my engine.

Here is what my shop did.

1. wrap all major electronics in seran wrap

2. spray engine degreaser onto the engine and dirty areas

3. take a pressure washer and spray away.

it really helped in cleaning my engine. Once that was done, it's just a matter of elbow grease.

honestly my engine bay looked the same, the best way to get it off is to get osme CARB AND CHOKE CLEANER..and spray it, it gets the intake manifold cleaner then anything, just keep scrubbing it like washes it all away, go over the motor with a detail brush and hten just power wash the whole thing with engine degreaser..works really well..my car looks great now.. *no digicam or id take some pics*
