Hey!

My radiator shat itself over the weekend so yesterday I bought a new one. After I finished work, I spent an hour fart-arsing around installing it, only to find upon filling it that coolant was leaking all over the place. It seems to be leaking from the water pump, so now I need to replace the water pump too.

I checked on Webtech & on RDT & it looks as though I may as well replace the timing belt (which is about due anyway) & finally get my lightweight crank pulley fitted while my engine is in eleventy billion pieces.

Buying parts here in Oz is just absurdly expensive so I'm going to buy from either Shark Racing or K-Spec. I know people have had all sorts of issues with both companies but I'm prepared to take a chance with them.

My question is this: which kit should I get? Shark racing's timing belt kit (which includes the water pump) is $US200 whereas K-Spec's is $US249. K-Spec's picture seems to have a few extra bits in it... but do I need those extra bits? I'd rather pocket the difference if it's just superfluous stuff.

Here are the links...

K-Spec's timing belt kit

Shark Racing's timing belt kit

Please let me know asap as I'd like to order this sooner rather than later. I'm using the bike to commute in the interim... & God has just decided to turn what was 30 degree & sunny weather a couple of days ago into 20 degrees & with rain to keep me company on the way to & from work 02.gif

Nevermind: Shark said I'd "get it within around 2 weeks of payment clearing", which is too long a wait.

I managed to find an online company here that'll do the timing belt kit (albeit without the 3 other belts) & pump for $AU204 shipped & I'll get it within a couple of days. Will see about getting the other belts if they're too worn out.

They should both be the same:

Water pump
gaskets
belt
tensioner
idler
accessory belts

SFR has a kit also. I got mine from them just fine.
