Yah if mine broke for me itd be a good excuse for a port and polished head, polished valves, and some nice valve springs. But im not saying id like my timing belt to break before i change it, i would just make the best of it if it broke and i bent some valves.

man, looks like you got lucky! I have a friend whose dad drove a newer kia. 60k rolled around and he didnt have time that weekend to relace the timing belt, before he got to 61k it snapped. see ya engine! 02.gif glad that didnt happen to you
it does look bad but in all reality the steel line inside of it would have held up for a pretty good amount of time.
im still trying to figure out why they suggest 60k miles in the us and around 30 elsewhere.
