im about to buy a new tranny for my car. i found a killer deal on a 5 speed 2000 elantra trany, and a dedcent deal on the beta 2 tranny.
now im wandering if the 00 tranny will fit in my tiburon with a 2000 engine flywheel and clutch? i know the beta 2 will fit modified but i sorta just want a direct swap for my DD.

i am nearly positive but i remembered someone mentioned certain years wont interchange.

Both are a direct fit, the only difference is the gearing. The Elantra is a bit longer.

I think the extent of the change over is swapping the speedo sensor.

i was pretty sure that they where swapable, but i thought one year elantra had a different trans. i just looked at my trans when i was changing the oil and its leaking a metalic silver fluid... i think it is done lol

the 2001 elantra is the one (i think) i was told is different from all the others

for the beta 2 its a sensor swap and grinding down part of the trans so the rd mount will connect, from what i read.

im gonna get the 00 elantra tranny the guy came to 150 on it smile.gif

150 get 2 at that price wow.

The 2001 Elantra is no longer an RD so it's got the electronic sensor for the new speedometer.

All you have to do for a beta 2 trans is grind down an edge. Really it sounds harder than it is. And just pop in your old speed sensor. That's all I did.
