tibby engine swap question
well since doing furter research SINCE FEB 28th from my elantra swap I know more about swaps. Thats why more MORE RECENT post is MORE ACCURATE. An Evo setup would just be too expensive but could possibly be done. Yes it can be done but it would be expensive. If you really want me to pursue this I can probably put figures or get more information from mark at quantum-racing who is an Evo/DSM expert. Or if he really wants to get a $$$ figure for the cost of the swap he can contact mark himself because Im sure he knows how much all the parts would cost and could probably get them for him @ www.quantum-racing.com
Im trying to find out the specs on the JDM DSM setup, if it in fact is the same as the EVO VIII but FWD then by all means YES do it if you can do it cheap. But if they have crankwalk issues then dont. But all the cyclone engines (JDM DSM engines that I know of) are just like the US DSM engines.
Found out the JDM DSM engines are just like ours here. Except a few small differences that wouldnt affect how to do the swap. If you were to use a 1G DSM with tranny I guess it would be possible but you'd have the exhaust side of the head facing the firewall and im sure that would be fun to work on during a swap
