Default throttle body with stock IM

Ok, i have a bbtb, and i'm going to put it on right now just for ****s and giggles till I get onpol to do my IM(waiting for spare IM). But should I use the 61mm ring or the 58(?) mm ring for now. I don't want to loose power. Dunno any throttle body self-proclaimed aerodynamic specialists out there?

Use 58mm. Even after you get bored out intake manifold, you might want to use 58mm (I am not sure about maximum bore out size of stock intake manifold. Of course, 61mm is perfectly OK if you can get matched IM). For now, 58mm should do a nice job for your lovely Tibby smile.gif

The smaller drop in diameter will create less turbulence. Granted 3mm isn't that big of a deal, but you want as little turbulence as possible going into the intake manifold.

sweet thankx. also the throttle body has some sort of silver(grease/film/etc) stuff all around the inside of the throttle body(actually its on the part where the disc touches the throttle body).

can I wipe this stuff off? or is it there for some reason? if you don't know what i'm talking about i'll get out my digi.
