Default THROTTLE BODY

Hello everyone,

I have one question. What are the cons and pros of fitting a SR throttle body against stock?

Please answer me.

Thanks

Pro: Big-ass.
Con: Obviously not stock in appearance.
Pro: Increased air intake for more hp.
Con: Need to also have your IM bored out to reap the benefits.
Pro: Now cruise-control compatable!
Con: Purple.

I'll probably add more to this list as I think of them. All in all, it's a worthwhile expenditure, so long as you're willing to do the other mod work needed to take advantage of the item (bored IM and an improved air intake system).

Searching the old posts, I noticed that it increases the torque also.

But one thing I can't find an answer for.

When boring the IM, what and how much deep exactly I must bore out.

I am planning to do the installation myself.

Greenshark, I do not reccomend you try this yourself, but rather take it to a qualified machine shop. The Clearances between the Throttle butterfly and the walls of the TB must be exact. If you bore it out just 1mm off center, you will ruin the TB.

The farthest you can bore out the stock 1.8L or 2.0L TB is 58 MM. That is only leaving 1mm of materal around the walls at some points.

Random,
Hmm...maybe I was not clear. I am referring to the process where the intake manifold is port matched to the throttle body.

What exactly am I to do? Are there any instructions other than Brendan's?

Thanks
