Do you Have actual Speedo Cable or just a sender
as my auto has no cable just a electronic sending unit right on the trans with wires that go to the speedo

The tranny sends the cable signal to the tacho. The tacho converts that into an electrical signal which is fed to the speedo. The speedo then via a reed switch sends the speed signal to the ECU.

Automatics and manuals work the same way.

Yeah, if your are worried about doing the tranny swap. That want be a problem, direct plug in between the two.
