just wondering whats being used currently by the built beta II guys,
im looking to get a standalone for my build, BUT i wanna know what works before i buy it.
i have a friend that can work majik with a Microtech, but im not even sure itll work.

another thing is this....
the only way i can raise my limiter on the betaII is through Seoulful and their rewrite?
is their no other standalone that can manipulate the limiter to say 7500
Thanks

majik watch out, this guy is going to steal you from your home! wink1.gif

All jokes aside,

I'm using a SMT-6, it's not a standalone btw. PRS4 is also a good system some guys run here.

I've been using the SMT6 with the dual rail. It's still apiggyback system that eliminates alot of the headaches of a standalone. The only way to get the rev limiter raised is to send the ECU off.

I'm confused - you say you want a standalone but you ask about the rev limiter? If you use a standalone, you won't use the original rev-limiting ECU anymore. I would think any standalone allows you to set the rev limit..

i figures on the raised rev limiter and sending it out.
SMT-6 has been working, will it be good for 400+ hp.
stock cams (1.8 intake) and the like.
it sounds like it will be alright.
Thanks

I'm using the PRS4 and it works well. But contact Dmdicks on NT.com for the GK wiring. He had one on his Tib for a while and was the first to get it working.

Your a little confused.

SMT-6, SAFC, & emanage are all piggybacks that still use the stock ECU, just trick it by altering signals to alter output, you cant raise rev limiter with these alone.

ECU reflash to raise the rev limiter for the Siemens (BETA 2) ECU has been relatively easy, but that would still be using the stock ECU, not standalone.

Standalone automatically gives you the ability to set the rev limit at whatever you please.

Standalones are Haltech, PRS, Megasquirt, AEM EMS, etc, these completely replace the ECU and require a detailed tune of every electrical aspect of the engine.

Piggyback will probably get you close to 300whp if your lucky, but it won't last long.

I run a Haltech and it is a piece of cake to setup and get running.

Pff.

Its not that much of a "piece of cake"

Ive been struggling to get swift's tib setup to run right.

It runs & idles great, cruises like a dream, but has NO power. I believe i have to change some settings that weren't set right, but its not like there's anywhere to find out what each setting should be.
