Default Stalling at light..

My car sometimes stalls at lights, when its been warmed up only, the fuel mixture gauge bobs from rich to real lean (only at idle). Any ideas whats wrong? I'm guessing either the idle is set wrong for the fuel filter needs replacing..

have you done anything to your engine like a CAI? will it stall at the light if you push the throttle in a small amount? could have something to do with the vacuum tubes, did you try the idle adjustment screw?

heres a link to a thread where somebody else had a similar problem

hope this helps

If you have installed a CAI like alex suggested, reset your ECU. Flubbering and stalling at a standstill takeoff is normally a result of that. Reset your ECU by disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes while you touch the brakes a couple times to release the power in the capacitors. (5 or 6 times for 4-5 seconds would work) Then go drive the car how you want it to run.

Efficient - drive nice and slow and granny like for about 30mins

Quick and Fun to Drive - go beat the hell out of it for 30 mins, this lets the ECU "learn" your driving habits.

If you have not installed anything, check your plugs and wires, she might need a tune up.

Oh, and it wouldn't hurt to read the thread that alex posted.

Can I replace that myself, or should I take it in? Any idea on how much it will cost me? I rather just hold my peddle down a little bit if its going to be really pricey =x

Not expensive at all. I'm thinking that either:

1) You have a vacuum leak letting air unread by the MAF into the engine at idle where it really makes a larger difference than if your cruising down the street. If there is a vacuum leak , its going to be from the intake coupling back along the hose behind the IM which lets the car get air at idle. Buy some carb and choke cleaner, and spray it in certain spots along those hoses. If the idle changes (revs) then you have a leak and you need to get some sealant or something to seal the area where its leaking.

2) Your butterfly in the TB is sticking because the cables are too tight. If you loosen those, it might solve the problem.
