Default sprayed my manifolds with header paint

VHT 2000 degree ceramic coating. I wanted more of a factory subtle look compared to the aluminum look, and got rid of some rust spots here and there. (Picture is just the first coat before I idled it) The stuff is like ink, it really sets in. What do you think?

(gotta love the aluminum foil. cheap, but works great!)

Looks good. Let us know how it continues to hold up over time.

+1 on the foil, but the manifolds look way more stealthy that way.

Depending on the brand you should not have to bake it. It heats up when you turn on the car. I can't see the pictures at work.

Please let me know how it looks after a while. Mine flaked up on my header.

The flaking is usually because of surface rust. did you clean your header first? or just spraypaint on top of the rusty surface?

I'll try to find a classier foil. Hahaha.

@DTN yeah I cleaned the headers, but don't forget there's ceramic coating already underneath too. I'm sure some rust spots with flake. I will report back. The directions say to Idle the car for 15 mins, some smoke rises, turn off for 15 mins, repeat X 4. So far after a few drives it looks like it's doing a great job. I think it looks really good in person, really clean. I might spray the CAI too.

Random in my thread. A great Honor! hiya.gif

I sprayed a brand new tubular manifold and it still flaked right off. And the parts that didn't, looked faded.

Shop around for a real ceramic coat. That one company that everyone likes is overpriced. Name escapes me right now. I have a local guy that does I4 manifolds for around $100.
