Hey Tony, MAF is that little black thing that measures the air?I think that this is it.If it is i have it right after the CAI.It's about in the middle of the pipe.See the second pic and you will find it.My personal opinion is that it should be there so the ECU adjust the fuel.

Nikos is in Greece. He is MAP, not MAF.

Short Ram intakes are designed for quick, cheap power. They make more HP and torque than a stock intake system.

On a dyno, short ram intakes do not show any less hp than a "real" CAI, and in fact, often show more HP and Torque than a "real" cai on the dyno.

The disadvantages on the dyno do not show up as, the hood is up, and a fan is blowing across the engine bay, so the short ram air filter is allowed to suck in cold air.

QUOTE
Guy:
A CAI more or less suck cooler air from beneath/front of the car. The cool are is more dense, which takes up less space and allow for more fuel to be injected into the mixture YIELDING in a richer air/fule mixture.
This is how I understand it. Think I'm pretty close, so I hoped this helped.
Peace..............
Well, it's not that cool air takes up less space, it's dense like you said meaning more oxygen particles in a given volume. More oxygen and other atmospheric gases included make it VERY combustable. With the MAF sensor reading the velocity of the intake air (MAF sensors yield the most accurate readings when mounted closest to the TB) and the IAT sensor reading the temp., the ecu knows how much fuel inject(relative to velocity) and to retard or advance timing(relative to temp.)accordingly. wink

Nikos, how do you keep moisture out of your engine bay? Especially when it rains!
