Sharkracing TB
I just got my new SR TB. the 58mm. I installed it and hopefully i did it right. question though.
since it doesnt matter if you bridge the coolant line can i just directly connect each end instead of finding another longer line. i used the stock little one and bent it over.
ok, nevermind on that one. i found the answer w/.......SEARCH smile.gif
also they have that little connector near the throttle cable. the new TB doenst have an area to connect it but there is a screw...guessing thats the idle screw. so i just wrapped the wire on the screw. would that cause any problems. and why would i have a wire connected to my idle screw?
all in all i like it. feels a little smoother and opens up nicely.

Hey, I did the same thing. I think the connexion is some sort of cold idle boost...when your car is just started on a cold winter morn, I believe this little thing opens up the throttle a little on idle until your engine warms up a bit. It doesn't do anything on the new TB.
sorry dad has digital cam. you know the idle screw? well on my old TB it didnt have a screw. it had a female connector and a wire connected to it. so i could never adjust it. just a bolt with this connector sticking out of it. left it alone and took it off the screw and doenst look like anything changed.

Weird...you had a wire connected to the idle adjustment screw? Do you have any old engine compartment pics around that might show that? I've never seen that on a Beta before.
Guessing, I would just say leave that wire disconnected.
Also, let me check HMA Service and see what they have for 1997's and the Throttle body...

nope. checked. no pics from that angle. its kind of hard to explain. just imagine no screw. but a bolt with a nut at the end and where you see the little circle through the nut is a female connector sticking out. with lubricant on it. and from there is the wire that runs from it to the main stream of wires wrapped up near the block. so actually there was no screw. if i wanted to adjust it i wouldnt be able to. nothing to use to adjust.
Random!!
Im actually experiencing problems with my idle when i start it in the morning and it revs at 2000RPM's then i have to hit the gas pedal and try to bring it down to normal idle.Even when im driving and then when i come to a complete stop it also idles high?
I think i know what long is trying to say.I also have an idle screw with a thin long wire that runs into my ignition wiring of the car.It kind of looks like a plug that plugs in into a little medal clip thats connected onto my SR TB.
When i move the idle screw up and down i can control the revs?
This is weird because on my stock TB,the idle screw plugs in straight into the TB.
Its located on the same side of the accelerator cable.
On my Big Bore TB from shark racing i thinks its brocken because i can move it up and down.
Please Help!!!!!!!

You should adjust the idle screw so that the car idles at 800rpm when fully warmed up. It should idle higher when cold, but not 2000 rpm.....
