Default Shark Racing Headers Legal in CA?

I really want to stick one of the Shark Racing headers on my 2000 Elantra, but I am not sure as to the legality of this in California. There are so many restrictions and so many stories I have heard. I just don't want to be buying a $400 header and then have it sit in my garage. What a shame that would be! Can any CA SharkRacers give me the 411 on mods?

Thanks!

no-one's headders for the tib or elantra are carb approved.

Because the cat is right up next to the engine, our chances of getting CARB legal Headers are NIL. Any header would require relocating the cat converter, which means it would not be CARB legal...

Thanks for the low down. I guess that I will have a hard time finding a shop to do this work then?
