Default RPW Engine Upgrade

On RPW's Website, their engine upgrade for the Beta includes "the deletion of the balance shafts thus simplifying future servicing costs and extending the life of the motor along with improvements in both fuel economy and power."

What and where are these balance shafts, and what is the downside of this modification? I haven't seen anyone post about this yet.

I went to the RPW site and read the whole description. What it sounds like to me is that they port and polish the heads, add a new cam, BBTB, and add some new chrome rings. The thing I don't get is that they say you get 9.5:1 compression, they also state (9.0:1 standard). Here in the US, the 2.0L Tib has a 10.3:1 ratio.

You can get a GT Cam, and TB from SR. You will have to find a machine shop that will do the port and polish, and add the rings. If you are planning on getting a turbo, go with a lower compression (8.0-9.0:1). If you want just N/A you can stay the same or raise it a little to get more power.

I am just wondering where I might be able to find some bigger Valves and Springs for my 1.5L SOHC.
