honestly, although i know innovation is a good thing, alot of people here need to try the road more traveled. Every few days there is a thread about a motor swap or some crazy scheme to get more power and the results arent worth the effort or the money. Sure an rotary engines put out more power than a stock beta, but getting it in our car is not worth the extra 40 horses when you can just get a turbo, and easily have 200whp without a crazy amount of money or effort, compared to an engine swap that isnt bolt up. Its good to be thinking originally, but unless you are terribly experianced with engines-enough to overhaul your own engine by yourself- just modify the beta, remember, its a great engine and responds well to boost.

Not to mention the rx-7 has very bad gas mileage for those of you interested in a semi daily driver. On my T-II I think i got 24 MPG 90% on the free way usually i got 20 ish

thats about the same as my sonata, and thats a 3liter v6 auto that barely turns over in the morning wink1.gif

I don't want to bring down your illusions or ideas on the Tib. I've had similar thoughts...though...not as feasibly unrealistic and pointless as the one you mentioned...but then you wake up one day and realize that the Tib is really an econobox.

Just stick with your 4-banger. What's the point of making a slow car a little less slower? There are better cars to choose from if you want real power...not to mention with a better transmission layout...such as RWD and AWD. FWDs are pointless to tune...maybe if you want to beat a small portion of stock sports cars...but you compromise a lot of other things, such as suspension, brakes, driveability...etc.

Trust me...I had to abandon my other project Tib b/c it was reaching the point of highly road-illegal and a huge waste of money. And if YOU don't know what you're doing, you're going to have a nice paperweight sitting in your garage.

And it gets annoying when people say "if you have the money...you can do anything." Obviously. Clearly, he doesn't have the money, that's why he's asking. Otherwise, he wouldn't need to hear your cliche.
