well do i try to tell you that your ideas suck? No. Then just help me out with what i wanna do. They may have some superchargers in korea that are good too! But i'm not looking to have 800hp. or run the 1/4 in 7 or 8. If i get the 50 or so hp from the s/c and then the 50 from the nitrus. I'm gonna be good just where i'm at. I might just get direct port nitrus. and go with 100shot and the maybe a s/c.

Dude, chill. He didn't say that your ideas sucked--he said that the currently available SC options for our engines kind of suck. If you feel up to putting together something semi or fully custom that works well, go for it. Just don't expect to be given a roadmap when you're blazing new trails. rolleyes.gif

im not asking for a road map. all i'm asking for is what the stock internals could with stand. I will find a s/c that will give me what i want. I'm not a boost head. I just want a little extra. so i might go with the capa or wait arround for the sr.

Gee, didn't someone already tell you?

pistons - 235 whp
rods - 300 whp
crank - never heard of any problems (not even with the 800hp tibbies in Korea
axles - depends on your traction
Wow, check that out. rolleyes.gif

Well then, with nitrous and the SC you could potentially hit the level where your pistons are near their limits. As Shadohh said, upgrading them would also let you go to a lover-compression design, an added benefit that lets forced-induction run nicer.

Not much else would be overstressed, really. Rings of course go hand in hand with new pistons. If you're ambitious you could have some port & polish work done while you have it all opened up. That's not a necessity, but will help you out a bit so long as the machinist knows what they're doing smile.gif

Of course, again, it all depends what you do. Once you've picked a supercharger and have specs on it, people should be able to better say how much power you could get from it and what the immediate issues are.

well i saw the post telling me what they could with stand. Thanks for the post. I didn't mean for this to turn into weather or not s/c go well with beta. Thanks for all of your input. The biggest reason i was wanting to know what the internals could with stand is that i want the s/c and nitris. I don't want to blow up the motor . But maybe i could just get a evo motor. I don't know.

The problem isn't necessarily that S/Cs don't make as much power as turbos. The main problem is that superchargers often times do not work properly on the beta engine.

I'm just trying to warn you so that you don't spend a few thousand dollars only to have an engine with rough idle that knocks constantly and overheats all the time. And then have to spend more money on a new ECU/injectors and tuning just to get it working.

Because of the design of the beta it responds well to cetain mods and not as well to others. If lots of money and headaches just to get that extra 35whp makes you happy then go for it.
