Ok, so I'm getting off the highway and I come to a complete stop and hear that my tib is still revving pretty high but my right foot was on the brake. My left arm sits in a position on the steering wheel so that I'm not able to see the tach and so I don't know how high it was at. When I notice the revving I immediately reach down and turn down the tunes to hear it clearly and then I let off the clutch a little and my car comes down to a normal idle. I didn't get a chance to see how many RPMs it was at but it was much much higher than normal idle. Anyone have any ideas what happened??? :?:

I had a similar problem, check the ISA or IAC. Its the sensor between the intake manifold and the firewall. Also check your TPS.

Also check your oil....and when was it changed last.
If my oil is getting dirty or low at all that happens to me.
I am on my third oil pan gasket....but I also have 106600 on the car. wink.gif and still running/racing strong.

mine does that on occasion... the idle will occilate between 1500 and 2500 and then settle after a few. I believe it is the TPS.

tiburonmoo I had the same thing happen to me! I was getting off the highway one day and I was low on gas, so instead of keeping it in gear and slowly bringing the car to a stop I left it in neutral. Now this off-ramp is a long one so I had some speed picked up, and then all of a sudden I'm tackin' out, rev limiter is screaming, and I'm thinking I'm gonna blow my engine! I went to shift into fifth to slow the engine down, and noticed that it was almost in 4th. Not in 4th but not neutral either. Anyways putting it in 5th slowed it down and I haven't had the problem since.

My Tib would randomly do that too. At first I thought it was because my foot was hitting the gas while on the brake. This is not the case though. I could always make it return to normal like you did......by letting the clutch out until it drops the idle. Now that you mention it, I can't remember the last time it did it........prolly well over a year. I think it's just a momentary ECU fart.

ok.. you guys are talking about something totally different than my problem. I have the classic TPS Uneven idle.... if you can pull up on the gas pedal to make the revs drop, you definatly have too much friction between the pedal and the TB... time to lube her up!
