I would definitely get a dry or gel cell battery. First of all they won’t leak or put off bad fumes unless you work hard at damaging them. They can be mounted in any position. They are also much lighter than a regular battery. I don’t plan on relocating mine to the trunk but I will be upgrading to a dry cell when I replace my stocker.

Cool...

I will be switching to an Optima and using the kit w/box from Summit. As I realize the weight is not very significant, I imagine it will still make a difference in my Excel. Regardless, I need the room for the intake I'm putting together...
