Default "Random Special" CAI vs Weapon R "Ram Air"

Blktib dropped by tonight for a Random Special CAI, and Jaws021 showed up with the Weapon-R Ram Air setup.

Here are the numbers..
Weapon R "ram air"
13.843 MAF (Pound Feet per minute)
86.0 Coldest air temp
102.2 Warmest air temp
90.69 Average air temp

Random Special
16.167 MAF (Pound Feet per minute)
75.2 Coldest air temp
89.6 Warmest air temp
83.22 Average air temp

The average temps are so high because the majority of the "course" was 40 MPH or slower. But there was one sea level 1/4 mile run and one 1/8 mile uphill run.

Is that the universal ram air kit? I saw it on the website? I saw the dryer hose they had and thought looked a little un-appealing. I saw a heat shield that they sold for the kit, wonder if it would make a difference... Maybe after buying their cheap ass coilovers I got turned off their products. Oh BTW, Random did you send my Random's Special yet? Dying to get my car to stop sucking hot air.

Random, what diameter pipe did you use for the intake?

Where did you get it? Locally or special order?

I'm still debating 3" 45-degree mandrel bend for mine, or the flexible hose route. Both ways will be thermo-wrapped.

thanks,

I inquired about the "Random Special" before and got no response. I'm not looking for freebies, I'm gainfully employed, I was willing to pay. What's the deal or is there no deal.
I got so desperate that I ordered one of those R-active heat shielded filters, I bet now you're gonna tell me I just wasted some more fricken cash, Damn. I need a CAI!

just venting.

congrats on the TEMP test Random, I can't wait till I can do what I told you and get 3 tibs with KORE CAI's to dyno run, and then 1 out of those 3 I will THERMO WRAP, just to see the huge difference we will get, if it wasn't that my car is now going full show, since most of the GO portions are done except for turbo of course, I would WRAP my auto, just to dyno it, but oh well, I will do this, I promise everyone... just don't know when... lol
