I'm going to swap a newer beta into a 99 tiburon with a 5spd. Some places I've called say that I have to get a beta from a car which has a 5spd as well. And some say it doesn't matter if it came from an auto or 5spd. I just need to know which is true.
Thanks.

I dont believe it matters unless you changing the tranny too, an engine is and engine a tranny is a tranny.

I dont believe theres any differences between the engines of a auto and a manual.

you will need a new flywheel, the auto one will not work, nor will the clutch.

If he keeps his same tranny then he will already have one.

I already have a 5spd tiburon...so I was thinking I can use the clutch/flywheel that I already have. Yes? No? All I'm doing is replacing the engine.

Not really man. And Optimo is talking about the beta2. If you get a beta1 you will have no problem at all.

If you are talking about the beta2 you will need to mod the plate either way it sounds like.

By newer beta I took it as a lower mileage beta1 which would be very easily swapped in.
