last night driving home my power steering belt decided to shread its self so i drove home with no power steering but i got a good arm working out lol just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? i thought it was kinda weird shock.gif

 

how many miles on your tib? I have played with my car rolling, both with the engine on and off.. I did not find it all that much harder to turn the wheel except at parking speeds.

 

mine has 78K miles on it i replaced the beltes back in may :?

 

hmmm.... seems odd that the belts would go so soon.. you not get them tightened properly? My car is less than 200 from 80,000 and is also a 99.. running on the original belts still though. If the belts were loose, I could see it jumping off of the pulley and then shredding on the lip.. too tight would put a lot of stress on them... but not in six months.

 

I had the same problem but it was my fault, I knew it had a small tear on it, but I kept leaving it for later, till one day getting off the expressway, I lost it and almost lost control of the tibby, cause I was taking the exit at about 70mph, if it wouldn't have been for my brakes I don't know what could've happened, I went from 70 to 10 in less than a second... but the long drive home was a biatch... smile.gif

 

what brakes and pads do you have? I wasn't sure if cross drilled/slotted rotors were the way to go... or if a big brake kit was worth the price
