I was just wondering been hearing alot of this going on.
What are you guys driving around in what conditions?
Was performance parts done like perchance catback installed?
Little to much fun in the dunes?
Is it a factory recall of some sort?
Was it real hard driving conditions?
Inquiries want to know

Lucky I just install my 4 2 1 obx headers on both my cars.
They had to flex cracks for movement on the bottom holes on the factory exhaust manifold that is but thats factory cracks heh.

Last time I brought mine in for maintenance the dealer said it was cracked. They replaced it under warranty. He said it was common though. It must not have been too bad, I didn't even notice.

2 or 3 that I've heard of in the forums.

Usually happens when they drive their cars to the car wash and they spray cold water on the engine.

Ouch...

Hitting a cold ass puddle in the winter with a hot ass engine can do it too.

Also a lot of people use heat wrap on a stock manifold, this will cause it to crack also

Is this really a common problem? My 99 has 80,000 miles on it and so far it seems ok. Maybe I should take the sheild off and take a peek?

I may do a little whoring... but seriously.. it is a common problem? if it is, It might be all I need to do the push towards a header. I really cannot see how having the cat directly beneath the manifold is a good thing for it's longevity

My was cracked about a year ago just before the end of my warranty so it didn't cost me anything to replace it. So was cracked about 4 1/2 years and about 75,000 km
