Did some searching for this yesterday and couldn't find anything so if there already is a post, my appologies.
Yesterday morning driving into work I noticed that shifting into second gear seemed to be tighter than normal. It does not grind or pop out, it's just quite a bit tighter than the others. All the other gears shift with no problem it just seems to be in second.
I removed the cable from the tranny and the cables seemed to move freely with no problems.
I replaced the tranny oil last week with a synthetic 75W90.
Any sugestions would be appreciated.
By the way it is a 2001 5 speed.

Unfortunately, the second gear synchros are a common problem with our trannys. I found some threads for you. I don't know of anything that would alleviate this problem, short of swapping the tranny with a Beta II (I have the same problem too).
