So I took the tib for a drive last saturday morning,It felt like it was running fine cept fror the blue smoke so I pulled in my garage and pulled the motor. Once The motor was apart, my problems were uncovered...Its a wonder it was still working! LOL.. The tigerlilly's took a bad beating!

So ...looks like pauter rods are my only choice? unless someone can redirect me?? I've been searching and reading like mad....I have everything I need( new wiseco pistions(bored walls ),gaskets, arp studs, clutch etc..)..I just don't feel safe with stockers.
any help would be appreciated thanks. Ive been checking crower, eagle and places like that,nothing?..

Wow, looks like you weren't even running a tune.

What engine management are you using and who tuned it...?

He's got Gary's old tib. If you remember, he tried every shortcut there was and I believe finally went with a haltec. Him and Viper used to fight all the time over tuning...

Tigerliliy pistons? Because those look alot like stock 2.0 pistons. Hell, those look like stock rods too. Did you have the pistons replaced at one time?

yeah, those are tigerlilys. i had some for a couple weeks and i sold them before i installed em.

stock rods are good for ~400whp and if you get them shot peened they should be ok for more..

it has been boosted for a while and probably beat up a bunch. amazing it has held together this long, looking like that.

What are the colors on the rod, Do they tell you anything or is that how they look? Is it kinda like looking at spark plugs?

Kinda like a flywheel. The blue areas are where it got super hot and possibly warped some. Im surprised the motor is any good at all.

pistons tells that it was running either too lean or with too much igniton timing advance
rods tells that it was heated way too much when they installed the pistons pins
for rods,
pauter have some usually, crower can make you some also
i'm looking with a compagny making rods for topfuels, and various race cars to make me a set....

I wonder what happened to the chunk of metal missing from that piston. I imagine it would make a terrible noise inside the cylinder..

I've decided to go stock, as I wont be autocrossing and tracking every weekend., but will still push her anyways now and then fing02.gif .I 'd love to see what 18 psi gets me?. I suspect the chunk went out the exhaust.,no damage/chunks lying around or anything. Heres the pauter rods I was going to use,Pauter connecting rods. Actually not bad a price.
