Those look awfully familiar

Looks like yours is going along quite well, I'm hoping MINE will be put together here fairly quickly. We're still waiting on the crank to be finished, hopefully this weekend we can re-assemble and get it breaking in.

Keep us informed! Maybe you and I will have to swap Haltech maps wink

wow... you kno ive known this forum was here.. but i think i should start spending my time here rather than at hyundaiperformance! (i don't even got to hyundaituner anymore..) seems like guys around here really kno what the hell they're doing!

is that a stock manifold fabbed into a turbo manifold? i can't tell, don't have a beta wink

wow, thats my dream, to buy a beta, and have it sit in my basement while i tear it apart and build it up, then drop it in the x3

nope, thats just onpol's bad-ass turbo manifold. The stock one wouldn't be able to handle turbo.

The Ballistics pistons are a hyper-eutectic material; silicon-impregnated aluminum castings. These types of pistons expand less and are more suitable for an everyday driver/commuter, but they cannot deal with significant horsepower output (ie over about 300 crank)

The Ross pistons are true 2618 aluminum forgings. These will clatter when the engine is cold and aren't as friendly to a daily driver, but they can deal with HUGE amounts of horsepower (ie they will live longer than the stock crank, which is what -- like 650-700 wheel horsepower?)

Onpol and I both went with Ross for the pistons on our severe-duty engine buildup projects, only because we both plan on making more than 300 wheel horsepower

And I dunno about Omar, but I plan to spray at least a 100 shot into the motor AFTER I'm satisfied with the turbo-only horsepower figures
