new sensor is faulty? that would be my guess since the new one doesnt work, but the old one does

exchanged the "faulty" one for another one. Same thing - car just cranked with the new sensor in. I even got a sensor from another brand.

hm... dont know much about this and its a shot in the dark, but could it possibly be that the new sensor is messing up the ecu signal? something may need tweaked to get it to work... possibly reseting the ecu? just a thought process i would end up trying

Its worth a shot - how do I reset the ECU? I know I can just unhook the positive battery cable for a few hours, but is there any other way?

just needs to be unhooked for a few minutes. Unhook it, push the brake pedal, try to start it, etc.

Then try again.

btw, through all of this no check engine light? might wanna get it scanned even if you don't have one, might be burnt out.

Here's the deal - when I got the car there was a check engine light. The guy I bought it from said it had been on for a pretty long time. I then had the problem with the battery/alternator fuse 02.gif and then when I got it to start again the CEL was off and has been since then. I need to find someone I know who has a scanner, but the one person I know who has one can't find it lol.
