First I just want to ask, is the Purge Control Valve in the engine, next to the fuel filter the same as "Evaporative emission purge solenoid"?
Anyway, I took off the purge control valve and read one way to test it was to blow through it and if you could it was bad. Well, I couldn't, maybe a little air would go through, but what I noticed that it rattled, so I shook it and little bits of debris, would fall out. I'm assuming that's bad? Like, would that just be clogged then? At anyrate I'm replacing it, but just wanted to ask.

And sounds bad to me.
HMAService will have full troubleshooting for that CEL like I said man, go run through the steps.
