It's been almost a week now and I haven't been feeling well about my tib. 1st it went off timing so I send it to the dealer to get the code. The code reads DTS: Intake Air temperature. Now I understand since my IAT have been hanging out since I got the car 2nd hand. After the dealer checked it (for two days!), he told me the ff:
1. clean the fuel line, pump and tank
2. replace 2 of the injectors
3. replace camshaft position sensor
4. replace intake air temperature (and they call it "mush" air flow, strange coz mine is MAP based)
5. replace fuel filter

Our dealer here obviously is not of the same caliber that you expected and he told me that the sensors are not available at the time so I told them just replace the filter and injectors. Now, they have only "slightly used" injectors but I let them proceed. When I checked it, the sound became worse and I was outrageous. I almost raised my arms to his face. I also found out that the fuel has mysteriously dropped down.

I thought wtf? If they diagnosed the problem as the camshaft position sensor, why start the engine. Their supposedly "chief" mechanic kept pushing the accelerator to push to the red line. BS! I understand that this might go to detonation since the air, fuel and spark are off timing. Next time I'll go there, Ill be bringing a gun. They are just stupid and very unprofessional.

Anyway, I would need some inputs from you guys on what to do with the tib. I will be e-mialing kspec to get me an IAT, injectors and camshaft position sensor. Anything I missed? (I won't be relying to the dealer this time...)

PS.. My spark plugs are newly installed. Their chief mechanic even gave me a stupid advice: ("The blue NGK wires are not giving enough resistance to your plugs") These people should be put in the firing squad I suppose. (I checked the wires also for continuity and they're fine)

Yes, it's already in the intake and the injectors are replaced.

The timing worsens... That's why I asked them "I want my injectors back".. smile.gif

Did your CEL go away now that you have the IAT sensor in? Maybe the IAT sensor itself is bad.

And the camshaft position sensor could be causing your problems. I highly doubt your injectors are the problem, especially if they are relatively new. Check the fuel pump to make sure its working properly, maybe run some injector cleaner through it. Since your plugs and wires are new, I doubt your problem is on the ignition side of things (coilpacks aren't my thing... check with other members on that).

Wouldn't the camshaft position sensor throw a CEL in the first place?

My version have no CEL... (Asian)

Anyway, the fuel lines are already cleaned, fuel pump is checked, fuel tank is cleaned and new fuel filter.

That leaves the CMP...

...and hopefully the CMP

Anyway, Hyundai Parts Online states the part number as 39350-23010 but labeled it as sensor TDC (which I think means total dead center)... Are these the same?
