but the speedo works? If the speedo works, then you might need a new speedo assy, or there could be something jammed in the gears.

The RPM tach works, the speedometer and odometer stopped working...also the wipers crapped out. Im thinking this car has poo electronics.

It's not wiring if the speedo works. This unit takes power, ground and speed sensor. Speed sensor signal is a pulse. The needle responds to a certain ammount of pulses per second and the odometer counts pulses. I happen to have one sitting at my desk. I'm taking a picture...

You need a new one of these.

Try pushing the face of the gauges inwards more. If that doesn't work, check to make sure electrical connections in the engine are hooked up properly. Then visually check the yellow/black wire in the dashboard. If all that fails, you may need a new speed sensor. Is it throwing a check engine light?

Thanks smartypants wink1.gif I actually have one of those here as well. Next time I pull the dash apart, I'll swap it in. Gotta find a good mileage number to set it on.

It is indeed throwing a CEL. This is for a 99 Tiburon BTW. Also I think it is the speed sensor. The same thing happened when I bought my tib. I just couldnt think of what the part was called since its been almost 5 years.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but your whipers, odometer, and speedometer are not working, right? If thats the case, it IS a fuse. A couple weeks ago, my brake light fuse went, so I pulled my whiper fuse out and used it to get home. Get on the road, 5 min later, I realize my speedo/odometer arent working. Check the fuse, and you should be good to go

mines a 2001 and when I go to the track I pull out the wiper fuse cause the wipers tend to come on when you get too much wheel hop
noticed speedometer quit working after I pulled the fuse out
put the fuse back in and everything came back on
