No More Transmission Woes, For Now...

You have to look at the bottle. If it doesn't say GL4 on there somewhere, it is potentially allowing your synchros to wear away with every shift. You also want it to be at least pretty close to the viscosity range Hyundai recommends.
Just having SOMEthing clean in there could be the difference you experienced.
Of course if it does say GL4 then you're good.

Well it appears to be weighted at about 80W, unfortunatelyt I can't find a GL rating anywhere, but have seen that it's comparable to GL-4. It's also yellow metal safe, which I believe is what our synchros are made of. I will keep searching for concrete evidence on this, so we can finally put this topic to sleep.

Yellow Metals = Brass, which our synchros are made of.
If I remember correctly.
Congrats man, glad you were able to find an answer. We do all we can to have a good time, and keep the forums easy to find info. Nice to see someone actually do what they are supposed to, and be polite.
You like your shifting now, do the skateboard ball bearing shifter bushing replacement mod and the shifter base bushings, you'll be in LOVE, especially with a short shifter.

Yup. You can replace the bushings in teh engine bay with skateboard bearings.
Do a search for "skateboard bearing".

Not might, must. This is a required mod for anyone who likes to be "in touch" with their cars.
Dew it, dew it, dew it!
I thought I had made up a DIY but I guess it'll show up on a search.

word. Stocker made me want to do this after he did it. I must say it works well and feels better with a firm shifting feeling rather then pulling on rubber bushings.
