It isn't realy weird but,

With the maf plugged in, my engine will bog and sputter. It will climb rpms only under light throttle. Impossible to drive on the street.

With the maf UNplugged, it runs fine. It climbs smoothly to the redline. seems to have no power below 2500 rpms. Will not idle. Driveable on street (keep rpms up for idle)

I reset the ecu multiple times. I switched out the maf for another one. I think it has to be ecu/sensor related.

Anyone have a spare 1.8 ecu?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hmm, have you cleaned your MAF contacts? Have you cleaned either MAF?

Is your IAT in place?

Mafs were both on the right direction both times. Intake temp sensor is in place.

They are quite dirty. I might see if you homie yamaha can let me swap his in there and see if it helps.

Thanks for the replies.

I can't believe I haven't drivin my car legally on a road in over a year!!!!!

if it's dirt, use some contact cleaner to clean it.. Just spray it on and let it air dry. do not touch it.

buy it at autozone

I know you were selling your turbo stuff a while ago but you never said you sold it so are you still boosted?

if so

Sounds a little like when i had a big boost leak

Check all your charge pipes for leaks. If your car is holding boost then check your intake as the car may be sucking in unmetered air.

are you running any fuel management still? even if your not boosted? i had this SAME problem, but i didnt try taking MAF off.. it would wanna idle low and die.. all the time.. but it wouldnt die.. if i gave alotta throtlle, would bog worse.. a lil throttle (10-15%) would go up with rpms..

boggled my mind for a long time.. then i realized something.. i had to reset my TPS, through the emanage, cuz my battery had died over the winter...

everything went fine from there.. check things with you TPS.

No longer boosted. I broke a rod and swapped in a 1.8 in place of my 2.0.

I want to try a 1.8 ecu and see if that does the trick.

If you need to borrow a MAF I have an extra one.
