Driver skills. cool.gif Course environment, track conditions play a roll too. OP stripped about 80-100 pounds as well, not much but every bit counts.

I'm ready for the track in the summer, I wanna see what my headers will get me. 15.6 with I/E last Summer.

I may be up for this once i get settled in college late this year, and have bought up all the bolt-ons. I'll be taking the Tib with me to college because of the uber gas mileage. GSX doesn't do well around town.

Alright, I got everything I promised and received a long class on NA tuning from my mentor.
A plain ECU reflash with standard I/H/E will only bump your power up by ~3-5whp.
The only way to get decent gains on an NA beta are with a set of cams. You can bump it up even more with hi-compression pistons.

Here is the price breakdown:
N/A ECU reflash $350
N/A ECU reflash with 240 intake cam $700
N/A ECU reflash with 270 intake cam $850
N/A ECU reflash with 270 intake & exhaust cam $1250

There will be an additional $100 deposit for the ecu, which you'll get back once you get the flashed ecu and send us yours. Price includes shipping back to you.

Here's a dyno of possible gains:
The blue is more or less a stock beta engine
The Red is with an ECU reflash and 270 intake cam.
The Green is an ECU reflash with 270 intake cam and 256 exhaust cam

Hmmm...looks realistic.

Isn't the 240 deg cam the 1.8 Cam? If so, wouldn't it be cheaper to just get the reflash from you and the cam from Kspec for $100 more?

I must admit I am extremely interested in this. Though there are more important things to buy, this does seem appealing despite the high price. Only thing I question is the impact on:

- Fuel efficiency
- Everyday Reliability

The only setup worth going for seems to be the last one with both hi-cams.

What would that 155.7whp translate to with i/h/e as well?

Also, does just reflashing the ECU enable an otherwise stock Beta engine to rev out to 7,500rpms?

Maybe I'm cheap, but I can't justify paying more than the middle price of 850, and that would be with both of the cams.

Is there any way to get those prices down a bit (group buy??)

Woah! I just realized that the 'green' doesn't stop making power until ~7700 rpm. Is it safe to rev this high? Seems like that would be putting a lot of stress on some other internals as well..

Anyway, this is GREAT. I'm loving that we're getting more support for n/a each day.

thanks airborne!

$900 +/- is what I've seen for Cam + ECU combos. But I'm not saying I wouldn't pay a little more for these.

I'm still waiting to hear anyone's input on estimated impact on:

1. Fuel Efficiency

2. Day to day reliability

There are no issues with reliability, but fuel economy will decrease by about 5-10%.
