MSD ignition help
okay, ive posted here in the past but i left here for about 8 months and forgot my name and everything...lol
anyways, to my questions:
First, im going to order my parts pretty much as soon as i get enough answers that i feel im going with the right thing. I want to upgrade my ignition system so im looking at the MSD 6A and a blaster 2 coil. ive already got magnecore wires, and ngk iridium plugs. But i have heard that the Programmable DIS-2 is the best thing for our car. How hard is it to install the DIS-2 on and 01 Tiburon and how hard is it to use the programs and tune it properly? which of the 2 have yall gone with and which ones do you recommend. Please let me know asap because i wanna go ahead and order the parts. Im just going for a nicer ignition becuase i will be turboing my car eventually and i need to upgrade my fuel system after this upgrade. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated! thanks in advance guys!
P.S.- i was just told by a friend to look at the MSD SCI (sport compact ignition) is this something i should be looking at maybe? Do i need to get a blaster 2 coil if i go this route since our cars are distributorless? thanks again guys!

The MSD Ignition is just as simple (well simple, but definitely not easy) to install and use an S-AFC II. It is a good tool, but the hard part will be finding the wiring diagram. I know for a fact that MSD doesn't provide wiring diagrams (Least they didn't a few months ago) so you will have to ask around and get one for the Tibby. Other than that, if you can wire stuff you can install the MSD.
The only MSD ignition that will work for your car is the DIS-2 since our cars do not have a distributor, there are no specific wiring diagrams for the tib since it wires up the same in all cars and it is very simple to install. The blaster coils also will not work since they are a single output coil and we use a coil pack with four outputs, one for each cylinder, I am useing an MSD coil pack for a dodge neon and it's working good, you just have to make your own spark plug wires cause the connections are different.
well how come i hear about ppl using the blaster 2 coil and the 6A in combonation? im not arguing im just asking. i need some more info because part of what you are saying contridicts a lot of things i have heard and spoken to ppl about. thanks
Look under the hood of your car, you have a coil pack with 4 spark plug wire's attached to it and there are two inputs from the ecu, it's called a distriutorless wasted spark ignition. A blaster 2 coil only has one terminal for a single sparkplug wire and it needs to be connected to a distributor to send spark to multiple cylinders and our cars do not have a distributor. The 6al ingnition only has one signal input and one signal output to control a single coil, a distributorless ignition requires multiple inputs and outputs to control spark to multiple cylinders without the use of a distributor, the beta engine (4 cylinder) needs two inputs and two outputs two control two coils.
I don't know where you heard that it will work, I never heard of anyone using the 6al and blaster 2 coil in a tiburon, I ran a search on several forums and found nothing.

LMAO! Wow, that's so funny.
Oh.
Wait a sec.
