I knew I disliked the Royal Purple gear stuff, but it was because of shift feel before and after. That is surprising.

ive been knocking RP for years now, on transmission #3(or was it #4) i used RP and drove it for about 10k when i bent the 3-4 shift fork



when i replaced the trans and drained the fluid out, the fluid was blacker than akon and felt VERY thin

But it comes in a fancy bottle and costs 2.5x as much as anything else???





The thing to look at is the API grading on the side of the bottle. Brand names are quite meaningless, sometimes the most expensive oils are a really vague low grade, and vice versa.
