Part#/Make/ and parts needed

76.309.150/Quaife $1195.00/MD717879 Speedometer gear $25.70

DBM2050/Kaaz $832.50/...

For the 6 speed I've found a couple cheaper but not for the 5 speed, the search continues...

What not just use the phantom grip lsd ?? Tons cheaper. I probably missed something as to why people dont use these.

nickname for that is the phantom slip. it will not be good to use that. it doesnt even act as a true lsd and there is a good chance of it destroying your transmission. theres info around about them somewhere here i think

Yeah I figured I missed something. If its hundreds cheaped than what you are doing, there probably is a reason.

for SURE, the quafie part number is 76.309.150. that is referenced to the H8-B1 part number that people have in their cars.. you also need the mitsu speedo gear. might need shims, and would be a good idea to get new diff. bearings..

in the end, for the quafie it would be about 1400$ for parts roughly. that diff would be your best bet though.

the kaaz, being clutch type, needing special oil, etc. would make it a bad choice to go with that just to save a couple 100$. thats just my opinion though.

what would be awesome is if OBX made an AWD turbo eclipse LSD, then we could just use that.

What's kinda neat, and I hadn't posted it up before, is this...

1. Quaiffe = Helical LSD, Right?

2. Kaaz = Clutch Type, Right?

3. Tiburon = NO LSD, right?

4. Other cars come stock with a Helical LSD, right?

Follow my line of reasoning and my links here.

1. Kaaz's English/American website.
http://www.kaazonline.com/hyundai.html

Click on either Tiburon or Hyundai Coupe. Both parts have the same part number. DBM2050

2. Kaaz's Japanese website - LSD Cross Matching list.
http://www.kaaz-sports.com/autosports/list_e2.htm

Now, do a search for that same part number. DBM2050.

What do you come up with?

Mitsubishi Mirage
95.10- CJ4A 4G92 MIVEC MT OPEN FRONT And it needs the same speedo gear # listed above.

Mitsubishi Lancer
95.10- CK4A 4G92 MIVEC MT OPEN FRONT

It also says that the DBM2051 fits, and that's an upgrade from the 2050.

So, this means we use the EXACT SAME LSD AS THOSE 2 YEARS OF CAR, correct?

Okay, from what I'm told, THOSE cars came STOCK with a Helical style LSD. If you look at Quaife's site, they don't have models for those Mitsubishi's.

http://www.autotech.com/quaife/diffe.../diff_apps.htm

So what does this mean?

If those model years of Mitsu cars actually DID come with a LSD as said, then their OEM LSD should slap right into our trannies, with maybe one speedo gear to swap out.

To note, we have found these LSD's on Ebay, often, for about $400.

Also to note, I'm looking for backup confirmation that these cars DID come with a LSD, and I've found several sites that mention that it WAS an option.

http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/car...vec-whp-15.html

The next page in that thread has more info too.

Anyways, now the cat is out of the bag, I was hoping to get someone to try everything out before I posted it, but since I can't seem to find anyone that will pay the $400 for an LSD, I don't see anyone trying it.

Id try it for sure. Now I have to look around for a stock diff out of one of those. Im sure it probably wont be as good as a quaife but definately a lot cheaper. Im going to look into it some more I think

My like of reasoning is valid though right?

I mean, if we can get the part number, we can call up the Mitsu folks and ask them how much a brand new one is.
