NP. Always start your searches out LARGE, then narrow them in. You'll get it.
I wonder how much I could get a transmission from one of those mitsu's locally to pull the LSD from.

What about it? Please read the thread my man, we know all about the Kaaz LSD's.

Nothing special. I know that all of you know about it. But this price is much lower (for the new one) than the other ones I came across while searching and the shipping is free fing02.gif
It would be great if someone could try a used OEM LSD from a Mitsu. OEM LSD's might be much cheaper and easier to get ahold of overhere.

Quaife has theirs listed for tiburon 6spds 97-07. Now I know we don't have a 6 spd but I'm wondering if it fits since it is listed for our years.
This isnt quaifes site but its listed here as well:

Phantom Grips are on sale right now for $300:

I would highly doubt it. the 6 speed has nothing in common with our 5 speeds.
That's not Quaife BTW, that's some distributor of their products.
Here's from their site.
http://www.quaife.co.uk/HYUNDAI_2
6 speed.
Here's the US Site.
http://www.autotech.com/quaife/index2.htm
Hyundai Tiburon V6 6-speed 63.309.150 1,195.00
So the others are just putting the earlier Tiburons on their sales because they are ignorant.

And how are you so sure about this? Have you pulled the diff from both cars and compared them? Just because the bell housing, gear case, and number of gears are different, doesn't mean that they use different diffs. Hell, most diffs from manufacturers look similar to each other.
Too bad no one can get ahold of Jaws or MaeirApril. They actually installed them themselves. I just bought Maeir's and swapped it in.

I didn't say I was sure. I've seen pics and vids of the internals of both, and it doesn't look that much alike to me. It could be the same, but I'm sure we'd have heard of the GK guys using a RD LSD by now from either NT or from the Korean folks.
I myself wouldn't be the one to do that testing though, I'd rather stick with what this thread is about, finding the correct LSD for our cars and the options from the OEM Mitsu ones.

I'm pretty sure the 5 and 6 speeds use different diffs. I say this because the 6-speed is the same as the one in the Sentra SE-R. The factory SE-R LSD bolts into the GK 6-speed. The 5-speed is based on a Mitsubishi design.

I installed mine myself as well. Just a couple weeks ago. I have our transmission down pretty much. The one I posted looks like it will fit. Same speedo gear for sure.
