LarryMcFly is right. The Phantom Grip IS a good unit. Certainly is the BEST unit for anybody running N/A (considering price and value).

Onpol destroying his tranny while using a PG doesn't imply that the PG is at fault, or make it a "fact" that the PG is a POS; it makes it what it is, one person who had a turbo'ed tib, was at the drag stripe and broke axle and tranny with slicks. He never really known if the PG was the problem or not. My personal opinion is that the PG was certainly not the major culprit in his setup.

By personal experience, I can say that it's safe to run a PG (and that includes experience with different cars, not only Hyundai's, but 1 boosted Tiburon, 1 boosted Accent, and 1 N/A Accent with a Beta swap having ~190hp).

The only real problem that could happen is to have the pin of the spyder gears go flying; that can be resolved by soldering the pin in place.

phantom grips are actually used by the gk v6 tibs by people who have over 250 hp and they don't seem to have problems. i say that pg is a good unit, but nothing compared to a real lsd.

quaife all teh way...love quaifes

the RRM LSD is for the v6 6speed. it is a modified nissan sentra spec v lsd. it's ok...

It ain't "nothing" compared to a "true" LSD, but the price sure is different too.

Depending on the spring used, you can get a very good amelioration in 2 wheels traction.

2bits .........

kazz - is a very good diff, but is a disk type lsd (uses a bunch of clutch disks internally) which is not a bad thing, it means that you should change the tranny fluid around every 4k, also if 1 wheel does get off the ground it doesnt revert to an open diff like the quaiffe will.

quiaffe - is also a good lsd virtually maintence free ( which is why i want it) because it is a helical type (made up of gears internally). however if 1 wheel does get off the ground it doesnt act like an lsd anymore. so if you plan on hardcore rallying and flying through the air like that suby we saw in kayjais post in the autocross forum then get the kazz

phantom grip - hmm i dunno id just rather get a complete lsd if im puttin out my hard earned cash

You not only have to change fluids regularly with the Kaaz, but you have to change the discs each 10k-15k (20k max) miles too.

Disk type lsd is reparable...by changing the disks...with the other one, once it is broken....it's donne. Disk type lsd are also more efficient than helical. If you have a high HP application, get a disk type.
