Any difference in specs is due to different rating requirements in different markets but the 2.0l Beta I will be the same worldwide. The exception is possibly the F2 Evolution Coupe, but I don't know if the bump in power came from actually changing internals or if it was just bolt ons and/or a tune. The additional hand full of horsepower would not be worth tracking down the engine in a rare special edition car and importation fees.



You can normally find a Hyundai engine at the wrecker around here for under $500. I got my last one with under 75k miles for $300. If you want a higher performance engine you'll have to either do a swap to a dissimilar engine (Delta 2.7l, Theta 2.4/2.0t, etc.) and that will be more money and work than it's worth. Turbocharging your 2.0l Beta would get you better results.
