Intake Vs. Power
I just removed the Air Box out of my Elantra. I replaced the standard filter with a conical one at the end of the elbow that comes standard on the vehicle. It seems to make a difference at the high RPM range but at the low to mid-range it seems to bog the car down. Any Idea or insight.
Thanks

I'll try disconnecting the Batt. Terminal to reset the ECM.
No I did not put the Temp. Sensor inside the filter. Would it make a difference..
Thanks

Assuming everything is connected properly, we did some experiments with that kind of a setup. What we found was that when a short intake is used, there isn't a sufficient volume of air available in the intake tube to fill the manifold at low rpm, high throttle conditions.
There are 2 solutions:
1) Increase the length of the tube, preferably running it into the fender well for cooler air.
2) Install a "tank" that has approximately 3 times the volume of air for about 6 inches of intake tube length.
