Probably that your intake is sucking in VERY hot engine compartment air for that first few seconds. Once you start moving, the hot engine compartment air will be replace with cooler air flowing in.

It will take the ECU a few miles to adjust to the new intake setup.

Also..make sure you put the Intake Air Temp Sensor IN the intake air stream.

If you have a MAF, you have an air temp sensor. MAF's need to know the tempature of the intake air in order to calculate the VOLUME of air going by the MAF film. It may be why this mod never works for you.

There has to be a IAT sensor somewhere on your intake. Maybe it's built into the MAF on the Optima...?

You may have your MAF sensor installed backwards. There shoud be an arrow or somthing to tell you the direction on air flow, usually points to the direction of the throttle body.

There is no KORE CAI for the Optima.

If you want a CAI you will have to make your own. SR has no Optima Intake currently in the works. I do not know of any company that currently has an Optima intake in the works.
